A solid worktop is a practical and reliable choice, as well as being hugely aspirational because they look so fabulous. So, let us tell you what they’re made from and how they’re made, to help you decide which kitchen worktop is right for you.

Dekton® consists of raw materials used in the glass, porcelain and quartz surfaces production. These mix under high heat and pressure, which mimics the metamorphic change that natural stone undergoes over thousands of years, but Dekton® does it very quickly. It’s highly resistant to UV light, heat, abrasion and scratching, staining and extreme cold temperatures. The perfect worktop choice for cooking enthusiasts. You can put your chef hat on without worrying about damaging the worktop surfaces, when you’re slicing, dicing and placing down hot pots and pans in the kitchen. With a Dekton® kitchen worktop you’ll get totally lost in doing what you love, and cook without worry!

Silestone worktops are made by combining 90% ground quartz with 8-10% resins, polymers, and pigments; when cured it forms a very hard granite-like surface, in a myriad of colours and internalised textures. Its stain, scratch and reasonably heat proof. If you really want the ‘wow’ factor, to all lucky enough to feast their eyes on your new kitchen, a Silestone worktop will do just that.  Silestone is available in 55 different colours and textures; so no matter what kitchen design idea you’re bringing to life, from naturally marbled to industrial design, they’ll have the perfect worktop for you.

Corian® is a man-made material composed of a combination of marble dust, bauxite, acrylic, epoxy or polyester resins and pigments. Most frequently used for seamless kitchen worktop installations. Corian® is non-porous, so stains will not penetrate its surface. It also resists the growth of mould, mildew and bacteria. We’d say Corian® is the perfect worktop for a minimalistic kitchen design. The signature flowing seamless look, of a Corian® worktop, creates fluidity in the kitchen, like a silky smooth dream.
